Welcome to Petrone on the Rocks, the website dedicated to finding the fun (and funny) in life! You'll find one part bubbly, two dashes of beauty, and a healthy pour of banter here at POTR. So pull up a chair and stay a while. It's all the fun without the hangover!

Okay, I have to admit that I’m probably a little too old to get into TikTok but I will say that I have found lots of tips and tricks from using this fun app. I haven’t graduated to making dance videos yet but I have discovered products that I probably now can’t live without. So, I thought I’d share what I’ve learned over the past few weeks. Warning: You might download the Target app and use it on the regular after this. But I mean, hey, we are in a pandemic so go spend that stimulus check, #amiright?

Lazy Foot Brush Scrubber Massager ($10.99)

If you’re like me and you live in flip flops most of the year then you definitely need this silicon scrubber from Amazon. Not only does it get all the gunk out of your toes and feel great against your feet but you can also use it to massage your back. Yep, just stick the little suction cups to your shower wall and scrub your back (and bum!) with your favorite exfoliator or body wash. Your body will thank you.

Pixi Glow Tonic ($15)

I can already tell that after a few uses of this toner I’m addicted to the feeling it provides. The glycolic acid in this bottle instantly wakes up your face – you will feel a slight tingling sensation – but that just means it’s working. The formula is also paraben and alcohol free so it won’t strip your skin or leave it feeling dry. This exfoliating serum is perfect for a.m. and p.m. use so get ready for glowing skin this summer.

Ardell Accent Magnetic Eyelashes ($11.89)

I’m the first person to swear off using fake lashes but these babies really work. Yes, it does take a few tries to get these things right but it comes with a handy magnetic applicator that you can use with these and your other favorites. Basically instead of glue, there is a magnetic strip applied across the upper and bottom bands. You put on the first strip on your top lashes and then the bottom strip will instantly connect to it. They are secured between your actual lashes so you don’t have worry about all that messy glue. I would show you a video of me applying these but it’s not a pretty sight 😉

Versed The Shortcut Overnight Facial Peel (9.99)

One of the great things about Target is that they offer a wide array of mini products so you can test them out before committing to the full price item. I opted for this when I found out about the overnight facial peel by Versed. Not only is is cruelty free and vegan but it absorbs into your skin overnight (without messing up your pillows) and exfoliates while you sleep. Wake up to smooth and renewed skin thanks to its blend of lactic acid, glycolic acid, and vitamin A. Now that’s a #goodmorning.

Pacifica Glowing Makeup Wipes ($4.99)

I am the absolute worst at taking off my makeup at night but these clean makeup wipes will leave your skin glowing with its enticing blend of glycolic acid, coconut water, calendula and aloe. Plus, you won’t feel bad tossing these into the trash because the towelettes are made from a natural plant fiber. The best part? The scent! I’m a sucker for anything orange-related and these come in a refreshing aroma of orange and vanilla.

Physicians Formula x Weylie Butter Collection Palette ($14.99)

Okay, hold the phone because Physicians Formula has caught my heart again. This hasn’t happened since, well, probably around 1992. They’ve teamed up with influencer Weylie Hoang to bring this exclusive collaboration to Target. It’s filled with limited edition and specially-curated, shades for cheeks and complexion. And, yes, it includes everyone’s cult-favorite Butter Bronzers – plus Butter Blushes and Butter Highlighters. Did we mention that Physicians Formula is proud to support Best Friends Animal Society with Butter X Weylie Hoang? #hifiveforpets

e.l.f. Matte Magic Mist & Set ($5)

Raise your hand if you’ve spent over $20 on some sort of makeup setting spray? 🙋 If you guilty like me then you’ll want to check out this much cheaper option from e.l.f. This $5 spray is probably cheaper than your Starbucks order and will certainly last you much longer. This spray gives your makeup a lasting, shine free finish in seconds and it’s infused with vitamins B, E, and arctium majus root. A someone who has to sweat through a humid summer, I pretty much carry this with me everywhere. Happy mattefying!

Sugar Berry By Good Chemistry Rollerball ($12.99)

I’m a pretty die hard Tocca perfume person but when my girl Heather McMahan told her fans about this sweet little rollerball, I had to try it out for myself. Cautious of overly sweet scents, I wasn’t sure if I was going to be into this. Well, let me tell you, Heather was right. This refreshing little number will put a smile on your face. Notes of freesia, raspberry and vanilla make Sugar Berry happy + sweet with irresistible energy. It’s also cruelty-free, paraben-free and vegan. If you like it as much as I do, try out the full-size version for $24.99.

Winky Lux Strobing Balm Cream Highlighter ($16)

I need another highlighter like I need another pair of black shoes but I got excited when I learned that Winky Lux made its way to the Target shelves. I’ve loved this brand ever since I literally ran into it on the streets of New York. Their branding is adorable and I just love their aesthetic so I thought I’d give their Bubble hue a try (along with their liquid eyeliner). This smooth, creamy highlighter contains ultra-fine pearls to sculpt and enhance your cheekbones leaving you with a luminous dewy glow. Plus, it comes in a mirror compact so you can toss it in your bag and go.

Not Your Mother’s All Eyes On Me 10-in-1 Hair Perfector ($6.99)

If you follow me online you’ll know that during quarantine, my hair has, well, basically turned into dreads. I’ve been going to sleep with wet hair and let’s just say my scalp has taken a beating or two every morning when I try to brush out my hair. It got so bad that I was considering chopping off about 8-10 inches myself and then dealing with the consequences. I wish I had known about this god forsaken product three weeks ago! So, now I’ll save some of you who deal with thin strands of hair that just wants to twist and knot themselves together. This stuff really does work. Still wondering how this little bottle helps your hair in 10 different ways? Here you go:

✔️ Adds Body
✔️ Strengthens
✔️ Detangles
✔️ Adds Shine
✔️ Controls Frizz
✔️ Moisturizes
✔️ Repairs Dry Hair
✔️ Heat Protection
✔️ Mends Split Ends
✔️ Seals Cuticle

Now off to waste another afternoon watching TikTok. Maybe I’ll take the leap and start dancing. 💃
