Born in Manhattan, raised in Harrison, NY (20 miles north)
Got any fun nicknames?
Rogo, Rags, RogoCop, The Big Rogowsky (and of course all the HQ names now, too numerous to list here)
How do we know each other?
You very kindly included me in an article for CBS New York about “stand out stand-up comedians” at a time when no one else shared your opinion! In fact that article helped get me my first agent. I’ll always be grateful for your early support – and five years later, it seems your opinion was justified!
What’s your greatest attribute?
My ability to answer interviews.
Favorite thing about living in NYC?
Knowing that at any moment I could run into Richard Kind.
One kind of food and drink for the rest of your life. Go!
Peanut Butter & Jelly and chocolate milk.
What’s your most embarrassing moment (if you feel like sharing)?
There are many and they all involve peeing myself.
Congrats on the success of HQ! What was the best part about being the host?
Thanks! The best part was hosting it! I loved having the opportunity to write and perform a fun little show, twice a day, for millions of faceless strangers, pantless.
Craziest thing a fan has done or most memorable moment? What was your audition like?
When I was out at a bar in Minneapolis over Super Bowl weekend, a kid breathlessly ran up to me and said “My friends said you were here and I took a $40 uber to meet you!” I felt so bad, I gave him $40. I’m not worth surge pricing!
Best thing Dan Rather has ever told you?
After I said goodnight from the stage and the audience was applauding the house band was playing us off stage, he pulled me close and said, “Buy bitcoin.”
What’s something that most people don’t know about you?
I own 3,000 vintage t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets and hats. Looking to liquidate. Check out my eBay store: retro-rags2
What’s your signature style?
3,000 vintage t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets and hats all worn at once.
Funniest moment with me that you can remember?
First bucket list item that comes to mind?
B.J. Armstrong dishes to me and Scottie Pippen lifts me on his shoulders so I can slam dunk on my childhood bully Rudy Vacarro.
Better to be king for a night than a schmuck for a lifetime!
