Friend of the Week: Sara Domeier
1. Kick Ass Lawyer at Pandora.
2. Mama of two adorable little gals, Auntie to four more.
3. Drinks water like a fish.
4. Always down for a dance party!
What is your full name and nicknames?
Sara Duncan Domeier. Duncs. SD. Drunken Duncan (it has been YEARS since that one :)
How do we know each other?
Through BVG - one of my best friends from high school and one of your best friends who you met from your high school friends (your HS friends went to college with her). The "small world" of the Bay Area :)
Where are you from?
Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and lived overseas growing up, but I say I am from Walnut Creek, CA.
Favorite thing about living in the Bay Area?
Being close to my family .... except my brother who you get to see much more often than I do :) Oh + weather, availability of mountains and beach all within a drive, liberal and tolerant ideas.
What's a day in the life of Sara like?
Ah well, in about 3 weeks it is going to be even more nutty since I will be back at work full-time with my two little ones. A typical day is me getting the girls up, fed, dressed and ready for our nanny. Then, I am off to work for the day and back in time for an hour or so of playtime, books, bath, bottles, snuggles and bedtime. Hopefully my husband is in town so we can catch up on each other's day after the bedtime routine, but if not, I watch 30 minutes of a show and probably go to bed soon after since the mornings are early in our house! So overall, a super glamorous day :)
What's your greatest attribute?
I am a pretty friendly person and can basically talk to a wall. I am also very generous with those who I love or those who are truly appreciative.
One kind of food and drink for the rest of your life. Go!
Vodka martinis (slightly dirty with 3 olives) and cheese (anything but swiss) - and lots of water.
What's your most embarrassing moment?
I think I have too many since there isn't ONE that comes to mind, but the latest one is probably when I screamed at my OB and all of the nurses at the hospital that I was "going to die" while I was giving birth to my second daughter. My epidural never took so it was a natural childbirth (NOT recommended) and I was the crazy lady like you see in the movies. Not my best moment, but a story to remember!
What's something that most people don't know about you?
When I lived in Saudi Arabia, I took Japanese dancing after preschool (kimono and all).
What's your signature style?
Eh..these days I would call it "mom style" - so not cute. Generally though, whatever is the right combo of making me feel comfortable and a little fashionable.
Funniest moment with me that you can remember?
Honolulu, Hawaii dancing in our hotel room and the debauchery that ensued thereafter. Feels like a lifetime ago - take me back!
First bucket list item that comes to mind?
Rolling Stones concert. I tried to go last year and they cancelled last minute while we were boarding plane to see them. BOO.
Everything happens for a reason.
No regrets, just lessons learned.
When you can't find the sunshine, be the sunshine.
