Friend of the Week: MaryBeth Gregoritch
1. New England Native (and Oregon alum!).
2. Wine lover.
3. Creative genius.
4. Winner of most likely to ask you meaningful questions upon first meeting. (see answer #5)
How do we know each other?
Carly and I met on the University of Oregon’s infamous NYC Advertising Trip back in May 2012.
Where are you from?
I’m originally from Concord, Massachusetts (Yes, the town where the Revolutionary War started and it hasn’t changed since).
MB, Mary Elizabeth, etc…
What's a day in the life of MaryBeth like?
Good question. I’m currently in the process of finalizing my move from New York City to San Francisco with my boyfriend. So... it’s been job searching, apartment hunting, working out, drinking wine, seeing friends, drinking more wine, and making several trips to my friends at Home Depot. I am a regular there, what can I say?
What's your greatest attribute?
My greatest attribute is that I am a true “people person”. I am very interested in hearing and helping out other people along with their journeys. I secretly think that I should have been a therapist, but I would prefer journalism or another creative outlet.
What's your most embarrassing moment?
I lost my clutch and all forms of personal identification/apartment keys at a bar in Union Square last year. I ended up getting an email from the head of my entire advertising agency publicizing that this guy found my clutch. He cc-ed everyone including both of my main bosses and ended his email with stating, “you must have had a good night.” And yes… I bribed the guy with a box of cookies from Schmackary’s and ended up getting my clutch back. MB, for the win!
Favorite thing about living in the NYC? What are you looking forward to most about moving to SF?
I love the food, the culture, the diversity, and the constant change about NYC. As my grandfather would say, “New York is the greatest city in the world.” As for my move to SF, I am really looking forward to nature! I miss the trees and having a better “work/life balance”.
What's your signature style?
Classic with a slight edge!
What's something that most people don't know about you?
I met Al Roker once while standing outside Buckingham Palace at the Royal Wedding.
One kind of food and drink for the rest of your life. Go!
Lobster rolls (true New England gal) and good old-fashioned H2O.
Funniest moment with me that you can remember?
Our infamous Mother’s Day 2017 brunch at Marta! I think the waiter was slightly concerned with our consumption of rose and multiple pizzas. #roseallday
First bucket list item that comes to mind?
Driving across the country because I’m about to do that…. Check!
Keep Moving Forward!
