How do we know each other?

We met in college and were roommates for 3 awesome years (and one unforgettable summer in Santa Barbara)!

What's a day in the life of Ashley Powne?

I feel like my days are always different, but almost always start out with our rather large cat, Penny, screaming her head off for food even if she's just had breakfast! I work from home several days a week so on those days you'll find me in front of my computer or on teleconferences roaming around the house in my finest frumpmasters. I usually try to fit in some kind of work out followed by scrambling around the kitchen to make something for dinner and enjoying the evening with my new hubby.

You recently eloped to Kauai.  What was your favorite part it? Did anything unexpected happen?

That's a tough one...I loved everything about our trip. We planned it so we had a pre-honeymoon in Maui, then family joined us for about a week, followed by round 2 of honeymooning on Kauai. It was perfect. I guess my favorite part was that there was ZERO stress. It was an adventure for us and our families as we hadn't made any decisions until we arrived on the island! Oh, and my dress was crumpled up in my carry on - that was nice too. The unexpected...well, I don't think we had planned on it DUMPING down rain starting about 30 minutes before the ceremony. Our poor moms that were dressed so nice had to kick off their shoes and trek through an alley full of mud to get to the beach where we were having the ceremony. That, and our officiant cut his hand with a piece of slate while he was chopping a coconut in half as part of a "traditional" coconut ceremony! We had a lot of laughs and the rain cleared just as I was walking down the beach. It all ended up to be an absolutely perfect adventure! We wouldn't have changed any part of it!

What's your greatest attribute?

Hmmm...maybe my ability to not get riled up over small things, well, much of anything really. Oh, and a close second is the uncontrollable giggles I get during the most inappropriate times!

Favorite thing about living in Napa?

I love the weather in Napa! It's perfect for spending most days outside. My garden also appreciates the weather and I can grow some awesome heirloom tomatoes! I'm also mildly obsessed with how organized the grape vines are. Seeing all those perfectly straight rows makes my heart happy!

If you could only have one kind of food and drink for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I couldn't imagine! Ice cream or Mexican food, and to drink...how can I give up wine?

What's something that most people don't know about you?

I find anything albino fascinating. If I won the lottery, I think I'd start an albino animal farm.

What's your signature style?

I love mixing up basic colors with some fun chunky jewelry and a fabulous purse.  You'll never find me in anything that is super matchy-matchy and I'm almost always in flip-flops.

Funniest moment with me that you can remember?

So, my new funniest moment with you is when I was in New York for work a few years ago.  We went out to dinner with my cousin and his beautiful friends and you just started rattling off all the crazy things that have happened to you in college/post college years. You had us all in tears and ready to wet our pants at any moment. Nobody could believe that all those stories were actually real! That was followed by more cocktails at Phoenix Bar (which also had some unforgettable moments probably best left off your blog), a blackout cab ride home, and ordering so much food from room service that we would have made ourselves sick had we eaten any of it! To top it off, I had to change my flight home!

If I were a real pony, what would my pony friends names be? [My college NICKNAME was pony]

Wait, you aren't a real pony?!

First bucket list item that comes to mind?

Actually make a bucket list!  I had never really thought about it until hiking Half Dome a few weeks ago with my sister-in-law, brother, and husband!  I think it was on her bucket list and at that moment I realized I had never created one!

Life Motto:

Sounds cheesy, but I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. You're extra lucky if you can appreciate what that reason is, learn, and grow from the experience.
