Michelin Star State Of Mind

1. FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN NYC?

I love Asian food - especially RedFarm and SriPraPhai in Queens.

2. WHAT IS COMFORT FOOD TO YOU?

A handmade bowl of pasta with really delicious melted butter and parmigiano cheese. Or a mortadella sandwich.

3. GROSSEST THING YOU'VE EVER EATEN?

I have a thing for really salty chips and orange soda. But I guess I don't find it gross...just not the best thing health wise!

4. THE LAST TIME YOU LAUGHED SO HARD THAT YOU CRIED?

Probably thinking about my good friend Josh Ozersky at his memorial service.

5. IF YOU WEREN'T A CHEF, WHAT WOULD YOU BE?

A race car driver. Why can't I be both?

Last fall, I had the pleasure of reviewing Chef Michael White's French restaurant, Vaucluse, for CBS Local. Not only is the space inviting and beautiful (it took over the Park Ave Winter/Summer/Fall/Spring space) but the service is excellent. I'd say if you had to choose one item from each section of the Vaucluse menu, these would be my suggestions:

Chef White is the head chef and owner of the Altamarea Group and has won Michelin stars for his incredible work at Marea (Seafood Cuisine) and Ai Fiori (French & Italian Cuisine). I'd say he's on his way to earning yet another star with the opening of Vaucluse. Go see for yourself!
