Friend of the Week: Claire Fitz-Patrick

Claire fitz-patrick

/cl-air/ /fihts/ pat-trick/

noun

1. Hawaii native.

2. Digital marketing wizard.

3. Upper West Sider.

4. Will impress you with some serious Christmas party hosting skills.

How do we know each other?

We met in San Francisco 13(!) years ago working as sales assistants at Time Inc.

What's a day in the life of Claire Fitz-Patrick like?

An average, uneventful day starts with me waking up and looking at my phone instead of getting out of bed. Then, it's work and running (sometimes in the reverse order) and on to the couch to eat and watch reality TV.

What's your greatest attribute?

Hmm... Curiosity? I like to learn about new things and have been told that I tend to ask a lot of questions (that's good, right?!?).

You got married this year, congrats! What was your favorite part about your wedding?

Sentimental answer: that I got to marry my best friend. Tangible answer: the flowers (shout out to www.jeffalencastre.com!) Intangible answer: that it was so intimate I actually got to spend time with all the people that are so special to me.

Favorite thing about living in New York?

The energy and the anonymity. Growing up in Hawaii, everyone knows everyone. It's nice to go unnoticed, if you want to :)

SPEAKING OF HAWAII, WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT HAWAII (OR BEING FROM HAWAII)?

One of my favorite things is also my least favorite: it's a conversation starter.

If you could only have one kind of food and drink for the rest of your life, what would it be?

It's cruel to make me choose. Spaghetti or steak and red wine?? More practically, any baked good and seltzer water.

What's something that most people don't know about you?

A lot ;) I'm a pretty private person. I'd guess that only Mike knows that I say hi (out loud, quietly) and wave to almost every dog we pass on the street.

What's your signature style?

I have no style. Can someone take me shopping??

Funniest moment with me that you can remember?

So many to choose from, but a classic C&C memory has to be the Halloween we dressed up as Emma and Sue from Glee. We were fully committed to making everyone sign up to join the Cheerios. I wish I kept that clipboard!

First bucket list item that comes to mind?

African Safari.

Life Motto:

Is this something I should have? After a quick google search, life motto image #2 sounds good: Wake up. Kick ass. Be kind. Repeat.
