Trick or Drink? 5 Spooktastic Cocktails

Whether you want to make a roadie for trick or treating with the kiddos or you're hosting a killer Halloween soiree, here are five cocktails you can create at home (and a few a professional can whip up for you).

  • 2 oz. Santa Teresa 1796

  • .5 tsp. Activated Charcoal

  • 1 oz. Kalamansi

  • 1 oz. Orange Juice

  • .5 oz. Honey

  • .5 oz. Ginger

  • 1 oz. Arrack

  • Top: 2 oz. Sorrel

Add activated charcoal to shaker. Add the rest of the ingredients, except the sorrel. Shake with about three large ice cubes. Strain over crushed ice into vessel. Pack a lit votive candle into the crushed ice on top of the cocktail. Measure and pour the sorrel around the candle.

  • 2 oz. Applejack

  • 1 oz. Pumpkin Puree

  • 1/2 oz. Golden Falernum

  • 1/2 oz. Passion Fruit Puree

  • 1/2 oz. Pineapple Juice

  • 1/2 oz. Lime

  • 1/4 oz. Vanilla Syrup

Shake all ingredients and strain into a chilled glass. Coat rim with cinnamon.

  • 1.5 oz. Cimarron Blanco Tequila
  • .5 oz. Koch Espandin Mezcal
  • .5 Lime Juice
  • .5 Agave Syrup
  • 2 tsp. Activated Charcoal Raspberry Preserves*
  • 1 dash Bittermens Mole bitters

*Per batch: One 370g jar of raspberry preserves to 5 tsp of activated charcoal. Use the immersion blender to integrate.

  • 1.5 oz. Candy Corn Infused Vodka*
  • .5 oz. Sweet Vermouth
  • .5 oz. Creme de Cacao
  • .25 oz. Lemon 

*Put one bag of candy corn into one quart of vodka and let dissolve.

  • 1 oz. Gin Lane 1751 Victoria Pink
  • 3/4 oz. Aperol
  • 1 oz. Solerno Blood Orange
  • 3/4 Lemon
  • Oil from lemon rind

Shake vigorously over ice and strain into a coupe or martini glass.
